2007-2008 Call for Nominations (NOMINATIONS CLOSED FOR THIS YEAR)
Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service
The Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service recognizes up to three faculty members annually whose contributions to the development and implementation of university policies and programs through non-administrative roles have been extensive and have made documentable impact on the quality of the University. Nominees will have served in leadership roles (either elected or appointed), on university-level committees, or in similar capacities and should have evidence of continuing effective teaching and an active program of research, scholarship, or creative work. The Office of Academic Affairs presents recipients with a $3,000 cash award and an increase of $1,200 to their base salary.
Nomination packets should include:
- a letter of nomination that describes the nominee's university service contributions in terms of importance and impact;
- a letter of support from the nominee's department chair describing the nominee's breadth of service;
- six letters of support from other members of the Ohio State university community who have been in positions to observe and/or assess the nominee's contributions; and
- the nominee's current curriculum vitae
Please send six copies of each nomination packet, no later than Friday, November 2, 2007, to:
