Rich Healy
Strategic Planning Analyst
Rich is involved with the analysis and preparation of many of the reports that the office produces based on the numerous surveys the office administers including the institution’s three staple surveys – National Survey of Student Engagement, AAUDE Faculty Survey, and the Graduate Student Survey. Rich also heads up the annual Strategic Indicators project as well as provides a weekly scan of the Chronicle of Higher Education and Times Higher Education and a yearly summary of the annual Chronicle Almanac issue. Rich is also the lead on the Delaware Study data collection. He handles many of the external requests for data and information from the Ohio Board of Regents. As is the case with everyone in the office, he also handles many ad hoc requests from offices across the university. Rich also assists in maintaining the OSU IRP website.
Rich began with the Office of Institutional Research & Planning in April of 2006. He previously worked as a research analyst for the Inter-University Council of Ohio, the state-wide association of the 4 year public universities in the State of Ohio. Prior experience also includes working as a policy analyst with the State Science & Technology Institute, a national non-profit organization that works with state and local governments regarding their technology-based economic development policy. Rich also has experience in the private sector as a transportation analyst.
Rich holds an MA and BA in Economic Geography from The Ohio State University. He is currently working towards his PhD in Geography at OSU. His broad academic interests include rural regional economic development and methods of regional analysis. Specifically Rich is interested in the application of technology-based economic development policy in rural areas.
