Jay Johnson
Associate Director
Jay began his work in OSU’s Department of Institutional Research and Planning in May of 2009. He is involved in assisting academic and support units as they conduct self-studies. He is also involved in the conversion from quarters to semesters.
Prior to joining OSU, Jay was the Director of the Higher Education Information System (HEI) at the Ohio Board of Regents, where he led a team of programmers, analysts and auditors to collect, verify and analyze data about the collegiate enterprise. Jay began his career at the Board of Regents as a Graduate Research Analyst through OSU’s Higher Education and Student Affair’s program. After completing his master’s degree, Jay was brought on full-time with the Regents as a business analyst to design and implement the enrollment and academic program portions of the HEI System. Jay was also the state residency officer from 1998 – 2008, helping residency officers and students interpret the laws governing who qualifies for in-state tuition. Jay left the Board of Regents in 2008 to become a project manager with Quick Solutions Incorporated, an IT consulting company.
Jay holds a B.A. in English from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University.
