PhD Completions 2002-03 to 2007-08 by Gender and Ethnicity

PhD degree completions by Gender and Ethnicity help to provide context regarding the demographics of our faculty. Not all doctoral recipients plan to enter higher education, however, so the actual pool of candidates for faculty positions may be much smaller. Data from the National Science Foundation presenting the percent of males and females by broad discipline as well as the percent and number of males and females in each discipline who have definite plans in education are provided at 2006 Survey of Earned Doctorate Gender Breakdown.
