Mission
To produce high quality information and analyses in a timely way to support University strategic planning and decision-making.
Function
Institutional Research and Planning, under the Office of Academic Affairs, provides services to a wide variety of offices at The Ohio State University. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and analyzing university strategic indicators and performance measures, drawing upon institutional data from all sectors of the University (Academic Affairs, Admissions and Financial Aid, Business and Administration, the Graduate School, Human Resources, Registrar, Research, Student Affairs, and Technology Transfer);
- Coordinating and supporting college level benchmarking;
- Coordinating with the Office of Enrollment Management to produce quarterly enrollment projections;
- Serving as University's representative to the Association of American Universities Data Exchange;
- Generating datasets of strategic interest to the university using survey instruments;
- Conducting research on issues of strategic importance to the university using national and institutional databases;
- Coordinating the academic support unit program review process: and
- Serving as a resource for the university on assessment issues.
