Call for Nominations

2015 Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer

The Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer annually recognizes a maximum of three lecturers, senior lecturers, or other auxiliary faculty members for their teaching excellence. Students, faculty, and alumni may put forward nominees, and a committee of students, other award winning faculty, and alumni will choose the recipients.  Recipients are recognized with a $4,200 honorarium made possible by the Office of Academic Affairs.

All lecturers, senior lecturers, and other auxiliary faculty members on all campuses who, in the past three years, have taught undergraduate and/or graduate/professional students are eligible for this award.

Nominations should include the faculty member's name, department, and reasons for nomination, as well as the nominator's name and e-mail address or telephone number and identification as an undergraduate student, a graduate student, a professional student, faculty or staff member, or alumna/us.  The selection committee finds nominations particularly helpful that include specific examples of how the nominee has made an impact on students, as well as of the specific instructional methods and/or formats, including e-learning tools that the nominee has used to help make this impact.
