Notes from Meeting

Capital Budget Requests were discussed and the committee agreed to send the recommendations for hearings forward to the Provost and to the Senior Vice President for Finance. These may be revised as a result of discussions at the President’s Cabinet. Once the decision is final, units will be notified. It was also recommended that there be no tours scheduled this year.
The Track II (non-capital budget) requests were not ready for handout. These are primarily from the Health Sciences, Student Affairs, and Athletics.
Jim Stevens handed out a short update on the Infrastructure Master Plan. Phase I is complete. The committee agreed to invite the consultant in to speak to the group on Phase II of the plan. We will try to schedule this for the March 2005 meeting.
Jim also handed out the Physical Facilities Basic Renovation Project summary for 2003 – 2004. He will bring a list of possible future Physical Facilities Renovation Projects to the next Space Facilities Committee meeting.
Glen Funk handed out the “absolutely” final SFC budget for 2003-2004. He also handed out an up-to-date budget for 2004-2005.
There were several funding requests and they were approved as follows.
Byrd Polar Cold Rooms $60,000 from HB monies
Hagerty Hall Blackboards $30,000 from local funds
McCracken Power Plant Internal Drainage System $312,510 from HB monies
A funding request for the Master Plan for the Health Sciences will be brought to the next Space Facilities Committee meeting.
There were no questions regarding the previously circulated MOU/POR Update report.
