During the Design Phase, the project team built upon concepts approved during the Fit/Gap phase. This provided a chance to validate decisions made during Fit/Gap as the designs for the system modifications were created. Additionally, this was an opportunity to better understand what it means to work in the integrated system. The reality of the effect one module has on another was better understood as a result of this phase.
While design was underway, home areas were assisting by providing data for a benchmarking initiative. During this phase of the Benchmarking initiative, data was collected about our current processes. Knowing the volume of an activity and the time needed to complete a task will provide a baseline for comparing the equivalent activity in the new system. Thanks to staff members in the business areas who were involved in collecting this data.
