SIS Wave Sequence Overview


ALPHA Wave
The following functionality is in the ALPHA Wave:

Beginning in June, 2008

Admissions
Applications for Graduate and Professional Programs – CollegeNet will begin accepting Graduate/Professional applications for SU09 and AU09. An interface will move applicant data into Peoplesoft. Also included is the implementation of mass email notifications and self-service pages for applicants to check on status of their applications.

Beginning in July, 2008

Admissions
Undergrad Applications – The interface between PeopleSoft and CollegeNet will be fully functional in order to accept Undergraduate Applications.
Letter Generation - processes in support of application acknowledgement and Incomplete Notices will also be available at this time.

Student Records
Transfer Articulation – The IMS (Interface Management Systems) interface with the currently utilized DARS product and relevant supporting infrastructure will be available to support the evaluation and posting within DARS of transfer credit for transfer applicants.

Course Data – The configuration and conversion of course catalog data will be completed to support the course scheduling and registration processes as well as the posting of transfer credit.


BRAVO Wave – The following functionality is in the BRAVO Wave:

Beginning in August, 2008

Admissions
Undergrad Evaluation – UA/FYE will start using PeopleSoft to evaluate applications for SU09 and beyond.


CHARLIE Wave – The following functionality is in the CHARLIE Wave:

Beginning in November, 2008

Student Financials
Acceptance Fees and Enrollment Deposits – Acceptance fees and enrollment deposits are the first university activities that will require Student Financials processes.

Campus Community
fsaAtlas Data Feed –As international students are admitted to the University, their data will be available to be pulled into fsaAtlas to support Federal SEVIS guidelines.

Beginning in December, 2008

Admissions
Acceptance Fee Production– Acceptance fee statements will be produced.

Student Records
SU/AU09 Schedules –The SU09, AU09 and WI10 schedule of classes will be created using converted class schedule data from SU08, AU08 and WI09. All SSN’s for instructors in the Schedule of Classes must be converted to an OSU ID. New modifications to the PeopleSoft Room and Event scheduling, as well as the conversion of facilities files, will also be completed by this time.

Financial Aid
Student Financial Aid will begin set-up for the 09/10 Aid year – Basic functionality will be needed to roll set-up from the 08/09 Aid year to the 09/10 Aid year and to enter new setup data required for the new aid year activation (i.e. new awards, new budget equations, etc.).
Beginning in January, 2009

Admissions
Acceptance Fee Interface –Acceptance fees are sent directly to the bank, and an interface from the bank will update data in both the Admissions and Student Financials modules.

Financial Aid
Scholarship Award Entry –SFA will begin awarding specific scholarships to students for the 09/10 aid year.

Beginning in February, 2009

Financial Aid
ISIR (Institutional Student Information Report) Load – Mid. Feb. 2009 –SFA will begin the loading of ISIR’s received from CPS (Central Processing System).

Beginning in March, 2009

Admissions
Orientation – Orientation functionality will be in production to support setup and planning for orientation sessions as students are admitted. The first mailings and self-service components of Orientation will be used beginning in March. The self-service component includes a real-time link to the Residence and Dining Hall system.

Financial Aid
ISIR Correction Need Analysis – SFA will begin sending ISIR correction files and running the Institutional Need Analysis System (INAS) calculation in PeopleSoft.


DELTA Wave – The following functionality is in the Delta Wave:
Beginning March, 2009

Financial Aid
Run Budgeting and Packaging – SFA will begin utilizing batch budgeting process and packaging for professional students. This is the proposed final functionality roll-out for SFA; all remaining financial aid processing will be implemented at this time.

Student Records
Law Pre-Requisites Complete – All course requisites will be in place for Law courses to utilize the requisite checking functionality when processing registration requests for SU09, AU09 and WI10.
Law Registration – Law students will register in Winter 2009 for SU09, AU09 and WI10 classes.

Beginning April/May, 2009

Student Financials
Assess Fees –Tuition Calculation will be in place, in addition to cashiering, external file load processes, and the third-party ePayment (self-service) processing vendor interface to support Law registration.

Admissions
Matriculation/Creation of Student Records – Admitted students will be matriculated prior to attendance at Orientation and any enrollment activity.

Student Records
Pre-Requisites Complete – All course requisites will be in place for courses to utilize the requisite checking functionality when processing registration requests.
Non-Law – All students will begin utilizing the registration system in Spring 2009 for SU09 and AU09 classes.
DARS –Degree Audit – Courses will be moved over from PeopleSoft to DARS and processed to tell a student what is fulfilled/missing based on their degree program.

Student Financials
Refunds –Refunding will begin in PeopleSoft for Law students enrolled in the SU09 term
classes.
Law Late Fee Assessment - The late fee assessment process will be functional on the following day.


ECHO Wave – The following functionality is in the Echo Wave:

Beginning June, 2009

Student Records
SP09 Record Actions –Record actions for SP09 will be posted in the legacy system and then converted to PeopleSoft in SU09 so that both systems will be the same.

Beginning July, 2009

Financial Aid
Disbursement – Actual Aid will be dispersed to Student Financials.

Student Financials
Collections – Open accounts in collections, currently housed in ARCS, will be moved into PeopleSoft.

Beginning August/September, 2009

Student Records
SU09 All Grades –Grade rosters will be run for the 1st, 2nd and full SU09 session courses.

SU09 Commencement – Commencement for SU09 will take place on August 30th. Processes used to award degrees and complete program/plan stacks will be run and all custom reports used to support the commencement process will be in place.
