Carole A. Anderson
Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources; Interim Dean, College of Dentistry
Carole A. Anderson has been a vice provost since 2001 and is currently serving as vice provost for academic policy and faculty resources. Since 2006, she has also been the interim dean of the College of Dentistry. From 2005 to 2006, in addition to her vice provost’s role, she was interim dean of the Graduate School. She served as vice provost for academic administration from 2001 to 2004.
Prior to these appointments, Vice Provost Anderson was dean of Ohio State’s College of Nursing for 15 years. During her tenure as dean she also served as assistant vice president for Health Sciences and executive dean of the Health Sciences and in 2000 co-chaired the committee that developed Ohio State’s Diversity Action Plan.
Vice Provost Anderson is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She was president of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and has been a member of several other national policy making bodies.
She is also active in the local community, serving as a member of the board of the Columbus Aids Task Force and, for 15 years, was a member of the Columbus Board of Health.
She received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Before coming to Ohio State in 1986, she held faculty and administrative positions at the University of Colorado and the University of Rochester.

Chair of faculty, staff, and student catastrophic events planning committees
Representative to ad hoc committees on faculty issues
