Agbai’s research seeks to uncover the roots of the racial wealth gap in homeownership and explore their consequences for inequality in wealth and health. More broadly, her work is concerned with the linkages among urban inequality, racial wealth gaps, and social determinants of health, public policy, and structural racism. She earned a BA in political science from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in sociology from Brown University. Agbai is a postdoc in Ohio State’s Department of Sociology and will join the department’s faculty as an assistant professor next year.
