Celebrating our academic strengths: A letter from Provost McPheron

To the University Community

Dear students, faculty, staff and alumni,

You have responded to an extraordinary time with extraordinary grace and agility, revealing once again our mettle as a university community. Our response during the COVID-19 outbreak, however, is only one example of the excellence that defines Ohio State.

As spring semester winds down and we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2020, we should also consider the remarkable progress that we have accomplished as an academic community. Guided by the mission, values and core goals that define our path forward, we have built a record of academic accomplishments that is unrivaled in Ohio State’s 150-year history.

I invite you — students, faculty, staff, alumni — to join me in celebrating our academic strengths and reaffirming our core mission. During the week beginning Monday, April 27, I plan to share on Twitter (@medflygenes) some of the many points of pride we’ve achieved together. I encourage you to share your own thoughts by using the hashtag #BuckeyePointsofPride.

Together, let us celebrate our achievements even as we strive to supersede them.

Sincerely,

Bruce A. McPheron
Executive Vice President and Provost
