Emeritus Academy renews 62 faculty memberships

Over the course of their careers, Ohio State faculty members develop a rich record in the scholarship of research and creative accomplishments; teaching and learning; and outreach and engagement. The Emeritus Academy provides an avenue for selected emeritus faculty to continue their work as scholars and their engagement with the university to the benefit of the Ohio State community, and the state, the country, and the world at large. Eighty members comprised the inaugural 2014-2015 group, seven of whom have passed.  Sixty-two emeritus faculty have been approved for continued membership until 2024. The following is an overview of this highly active group's accomplishments from 2014 through early 2019:

  • 421 peer reviewed articles (many in prominent publications)
  • 58 books and monographs
  • 123 chapters in books
  • 362 presentations (many being invited keynotes)
  • 84 creative works (such as single person juried exhibitions, patents/trademarks)
  • 31 external grants (11 of those with NSF or NIH)
  • Some received awards (10), plus one honorary degree
  • Other activities of note: one member has been interviewed by the media 500 times, one oversees a University Center, and many are contributing to or writing their own blogs.
