Faculty Ombudsperson Selected

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to share that Mollie V. Blackburn is Ohio State’s next faculty ombudsperson, effective Aug. 15. In this role, Blackburn will act as a resource to faculty members, providing advice and support as they address issues and concerns related to their academic roles. For information about ombuds services, please see the office’s website.

A professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education and Human Ecology, Blackburn joined the Ohio State faculty in 2001. She has served in a variety of leadership roles at Ohio State, including as a member of University Senate, the Council on Academic Affairs, and the Committee on Academic Misconduct. In her department, she was chair of the Undergraduate Studies Committee for six years.

Blackburn holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond, a master’s degree from the University of Georgia, and earned her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania.

Please join me in welcoming Mollie to her new role and congratulating outgoing ombudsperson Sally Rudmann on her many contributions to our faculty. Sally remains an emeritus professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science.

Sincerely,

Helen I. Malone, PhD
Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources
