New Faculty Orientation

Welcome to Ohio State! New Faculty Orientation 2018 was held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, and Thursday, Aug. 16. Find agenda details and presentation materials below, following a greeting from Provost McPheron.

Welcome to The Ohio State University

Dear Colleagues:

You accepted our offer to join our faculty and, on behalf of our academic community, we look forward to a robust, mutually advantageous partnership with you.

To begin this partnership, New Faculty Orientation provides a big-picture view of the university's principled and philosophical approaches and policies to support you as a faculty member. You will also learn about promotion and tenure, our First 90 Days Checklist, benefits, and much more.

As you settle into your academic career at Ohio State, we are committed to creating the best possible environment for you to conduct your research, to hone your teaching skills, to bring your ideas and expertise to our shared-governance system, and to serve your discipline and our global community.

We developed a website that will be a great resource for you, especially during your first year. In addition to New Faculty Orientation materials, we included a New Faculty Toolkit and helpful information about Columbus. Also, bookmark the Office of Academic Affairs for frequent news and other updates.

Welcome to Ohio State!

Sincerely,

Bruce A. McPheron, PhD
Executive Vice President and Provost
