Ohio State tied for second nationally with 10 Fulbright Scholars
The Ohio State University is ranked second in the nation, tied with Penn State University, and is a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars for the 2016-17 academic year, according to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Ten scholars from Ohio State were awarded Fulbright grants in the past year.
For several months, Ohio State has partnered with Workday on a new financial management system to standardize and simplify the university’s processes and reporting. Impressed with its potential, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation and have since decided to incorporate two other core administrative systems. All three — financial, human resources and student information — will be unified into a single Workday system that will transform the way we do business.
EHE Professor Wins Highest National Honor for Research
Shayne Piasta, associate professor of teaching and learning, is one of two U.S. education researchers, and the only professor from Ohio State, honored by President Barack Obama with the 2017 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).
Four Engineering Faculty Named 2017 IEEE Fellows
Four College of Engineering faculty members were named 2017 Fellows by the prestigious Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). IEEE recognized Computer Science and Engineering Professor Tamal Dey for contributions to geometric computing; Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Eylem Ekici for contributions to algorithms, protocols and architectures of multi-hop wireless networks; Computer Science and Engineering Professor Prasun Sinha for contributions to scheduling and resource allocations in wireless networks; and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Professor Carol Smidts for contributions to reliability analysis of high-assurance systems.
