Announcing the Opioid Innovation Fund
The national opioid crisis continues to take a staggering toll on Ohio, each year killing thousands and devastating families and communities across the state. As Ohio's flagship land-grant university, we are addressing the epidemic in diverse areas across our campuses, including the Wexner Medical Center, multiple colleges, institutes, and centers, and OSU Extension. These efforts involve research, education, prescribing practices, partnerships, outreach programs, and symposia.
In line with our land-grant mandate and strategic plan, more needs to be done.
To that end, I am pleased to announce The Ohio State University Opioid Innovation Fund, a grant program to advance our understanding of the crisis and to inspire new and existing partnerships to develop programs that alleviate the burden in Ohio. In all, more than $1 million is available in the fund and will be distributed in planning grants of up to $50,000 and implementation grants of up to $100,000. The deadline to submit pre-proposals is 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. Details and application materials are available on the program webpage.
Please share as appropriate. Teams are encouraged to include partners in the public and private sectors, but each team must be led by an Ohio State faculty or staff member to be eligible for the grants.
For more information about the program, please contact CPH-OIFgrants@osu.edu.
