Information about vaccination requirement
The Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website continues to be updated with details about the vaccination requirement announced last week. As President Kristina M. Johnson's message indicated, this requirement will apply to all Ohio State students, faculty and staff.
Information will be shared in the coming days about how to report vaccination information or seek an exemption. Please note that most faculty and staff will need to re-submit their vaccination information, even if they previously reported through other systems.
In the meantime, the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes vaccination requirement page addresses topics such as:
- Which vaccines meet the requirement
- How to get vaccinated
- The deadlines for submitting information (individuals must report at least the first shot by Friday, Oct. 15)
- Information about exemptions, and what will be required of people whose requests are approved
- Whether the requirement applies to individuals working remotely (it does) or students who are taking all of their classes virtually (it may, unless they attest that they never come to our campuses and receive an exemption).
- What happens if individuals do not meet the Oct. 15 deadline
Additional information will be posted as the deadlines approach.
Other sections of the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website also are regularly updated, including the Teaching page. For example, the teaching page recently added a FAQ addressing what will happen if a student in an in-person class tests positive for COVID-19.
Classroom safety tips for instructors
If you missed it last week, the Office of Administration and Planning provided tips on classroom safety to faculty and graduate teaching associates. The message includes information about emergency procedures, Buckeye Alerts, surviving an active aggressor as well as information about disinfection and air filtration in classrooms. More information about COVID-19 health measures in classrooms are available on the Facilities Operations and Development COVID-19 response webpage.
Flexible work agreements due by Sept. 30
The Office of Human Resources reminds employees and managers to align on the expectations for any flexible work arrangement. Once a workplan is established, faculty and staff working remotely in any capacity need to complete an online Flexible Work Agreement by Thursday, Sept. 30, to appropriately document their work locations for tax reporting purposes. Faculty, graduate associates and student employees who have been formally approved to work remote or hybrid by their college need to submit the online form for purposes of accurate tax reporting. Even if a PDF form has already been completed, the information must be submitted through the online form.
