Positive Mentorship at Ohio State: A Satellite Meeting of the Big Ten Academic Alliance

Positive Mentorship at Ohio State: A Satellite Meeting of the Big Ten Academic Alliance

Last fall, the National Academies of Sciences released a consensus report, "The Science of Effective Mentorship in STEMM" which compiles and analyzes current research on the characteristics, competencies, and behaviors of effective mentors and mentees. The committee also created a practical resource guide for mentors.

In response to this report, the Graduate Deans from the Big Ten universities are holding a meeting on February 24, 2020 to explore the findings and recommendations from the report. The goal of the event is to initiate dialogue among Big Ten members about fostering culture change in the area of mentoring excellence. You are invited to attend a satellite meeting to discuss the implementation of positive mentorship practices at Ohio State. This satellite meeting is open to graduate and professional students, postdocs, staff, and faculty from all disciplines
