RAISE call for proposals - 2022-23

Dear Deans,

I’m pleased to open our 2022-23 call for proposals for the Race, Inclusion and Social Equity (RAISE) initiative. Your colleges are invited to submit proposals for tenure-track faculty in any of the six RAISE research areas by Friday, July 29.

Through the RAISE initiative, Ohio State is working to enhance our world-class research program into racial and social disparities. The university plans to attract at least 50 RAISE research faculty within a decade, and we are thrilled that the recruiting process has started for 25 positions that were identified during the just-completed academic year.

Starting with the current call, the Office of Academic Affairs will utilize an annual review process for RAISE positions. This timing is designed to enable colleges, schools and departments to better align RAISE recruitment with their other faculty recruitment efforts.

We encourage colleges (and the schools and departments within them) to work collaboratively to develop proposals for RAISE positions and research. The selection committee will continue to prioritize proposals that foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

Please see the RAISE webpage for more information about the 2022-23 call for proposals and the positions that have been approved to date.

Sincerely,

Trevon D. Logan
