Reappointment of Anil Makhija as dean of the Fisher College of Business

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees today approved the reappointment of Anil K. Makhija, PhD, as dean of the Max M. Fisher College of Business. His reappointment as dean is effective through June 30, 2024. He also holds the John W. Berry, Sr. Chair in Business and is a professor in the Department of Finance.

During Anil’s tenure as dean, Fisher has created new academic offerings for students, including a specialized master in business analytics, a master of accounting with data and analytics, and a weekend option for the working professionals MBA program.

Fisher also recently launched the Bright EMBA, a collaboration with the College of Education and Human Ecology to produce new leaders for challenged Ohio schools. In addition, the college has expanded co-curricular enrichment experiences, such as the new Fisher Leadership Initiative that serves more than 4,000 students, and global experiences for more than 700 students.

Anil has also strengthened the college through additional alumni support, relationships with 140 industry partners, and the addition of new faculty, including 10 new research chairs and five teaching fellows — a first at Fisher.

Please join me in congratulating Anil on his reappointment as dean.
