October Faculty Pathways: Strategic approach to service in higher education

In this session, on Oct. 16 from noon to 1 p.m., Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Recognition Kaprea Johnson will provide faculty members with the knowledge and skills needed to balance service obligations successfully. Participants will learn about the different kinds of service obligations, benefits of being proactive about service, and practical strategies for developing an academic service plan.

|
Scarlet & Grants: Private Funding Opportunities Database is designed to provide the Ohio State research community with equitable, ongoing access to private grant funding. This searchable database features more than 800 cyclical opportunities that target various domains, career stages and support levels, reflecting the priorities and focus areas of private foundations and corporations. The Office of Foundation Relations curates and maintains the database, driven by a commitment to supporting faculty across all academic units.

Fall cycle for President’s Research Excellence proposals now open
|
The President's Research Excellence program provides seed support to catalyze and accelerate multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary or convergent research teams pursuing external funding by investing in Ohio State research through two tiers of grants. The Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge is accepting Letters of Intent for the fall funding round for both Accelerator (up to $50,000) and Catalyst ($150,000 - $300,000) grants, which are due by Oct. 16.

Join the Office of International Affairs for the International Student Experience Workshop Series to learn more about what it’s like to be an international student at Ohio State. These free workshops include staff presentations and a panel of international students who will answer questions and share their stories. Those who complete the three-part series will receive a training certificate from the Office of International Affairs.

The BIG10 Academia Career Fair (virtual)

The BIG10 Academia Career Fair is focused on connecting Big Ten postdoctoral trainees, doctoral students and master’s students interested in tenure or non-tenure track faculty positions, as well as researcher, lecturer and postdoctoral trainee positions in higher education, government, research-focused and nonprofit organizations. This event is a collaboration between the College of Engineering’s Office of Graduate Education, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Council of Graduate Students. It will take place on Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
