Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
With the fall semester at its midpoint, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued excellence as Buckeyes as well as share an important next step in how we will advance our academic mission — and strengthen our position as a nationally competitive flagship institution.
Ohio State is embarking on a strategic planning process, and engagement with the broader university community will be vital. Our work will anchor to the plan established in 2011-2012 and will align with the 2020 vision for the university broadly focused on access, affordability and excellence; community engagement; and diversity and inclusion.
Your ideas and input are critical, and there are a number of ways for you to engage.
- A website is now live where you can share your thoughts on priorities and areas of focus.
- We will periodically post questions for campus-wide reflection and feedback. These questions will be central to guiding our strategy, and we would value your input. The first question is here; future questions will be included in onCampus communications.
- Town halls and focus groups will be planned to provide students, faculty and staff with additional opportunities for engagement.
Because of your collective contributions, Ohio State’s impact as a land-grant institution is greater than ever. I look forward to working with you as we continue to define excellence in 21st century higher education.
