Trevor Brown to serve as executive dean of the professional colleges

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to share that Trevor Brown, dean of John Glenn College of Public Affairs, has accepted my offer to serve in the additional role of executive dean of the professional colleges. Subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, his appointment is effective December 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.

This two-year position is selected from among the deans of the professional colleges cluster, which includes the colleges of Education and Human Ecology, Engineering, Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, Fisher College, Glenn College, Moritz College and Social Work. The executive dean serves as chair of the professional colleges cluster and, in this role, convenes leaders of the seven colleges to develop strategies of common inter-college interest and other matters designated by the provost.

Dean Brown will succeed Dean David B. Williams, College of Engineering, who previously served two terms as executive dean. Please join me in thanking Dave for his outstanding leadership in this role.

Many thanks to Trevor for adding this significant role to his leadership responsibilities.

Sincerely,

Bruce A. McPheron, PhD
Executive Vice President and Provost
