Dear Colleagues,
As Anil Makhija prepares to step down from his role as dean of the Max M. Fisher College of Business at the end of the month, I write to share a brief update on college leadership.
First, though, I want to thank Dean Makhija for his remarkable decade of service. His commitment to excellence has significantly bolstered the college’s global reputation. Under his guidance, Fisher has attained enviable enrollments, program, and research rankings and maintained robust financial health. Fisher’s alumni network is highly engaged, with members holding some of the most influential leadership positions in the business world today. I know you will join me in sharing our deepest thanks as he returns to the college faculty.
The search for the next dean remains ongoing, and I anticipate the search continuing in earnest once the next provost is in place.
In the meantime, I am pleased to share that Trevor Brown, dean of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, will become interim dean of Fisher, effective July 1. Dean Brown is a highly respected scholar and leader who has been on the Ohio State faculty since 2001. His research focuses on public management and organizational theory, contracting and contract management, and strategic management and performance measurement. He will continue to serve as dean of the Glenn College.
The search for the college’s next dean is a critical endeavor, and Ohio State’s leadership is committed to ensuring that Fisher’s next leader will be a strategic visionary who can build upon the college’s tradition of excellence.
Sincerely,
Karla Zadnik
Interim Executive Vice President and Provost
