State Board Licensure and Certification

Completion of Ohio State’s CODA-accredited BS in Dental Hygiene program meets educational requirements to apply for a Dental Hygienist license in the Georgia. 

Completion of Ohio State’s CODA-accredited Doctor of Dental Surgery program meets educational requirements to apply for a Dentist license in the Georgia.  Completion of a general practice or specialty residency program is not required to apply for a Dentist license in Georgia. 
 

Completion of one of Ohio State’s specialty residency programs coupled with a current Dentist license in Georgia meets educational requirements to advertise and/or practice as a specialist in an ADA-recognized specialty branch in Georgia.

Completion of Ohio State’s Master of Dietetic and Nutrition program meets educational requirements to qualify for a Dietitian license in Georgia. Additional testing, background clearance, and other requirements may also need to be met prior to applying for admission through the Board. 

Students enrolled in Ohio State’s ACEND-accredited MS Combined Dietetic Internship have already graduated from an accredited didactic program in dietetics. Ohio State has not determined whether completion of Ohio State’s ACEND-accredited MS Combined Dietetic Internship program meets educational requirements to apply for a Dietitian license in Georgia.

Nutritionists are not licensed in Georgia. 

Undergraduate Programs with Licensure:   

Completion of Ohio State’s Bachelor of Science in Agriscience Education program does not meet educational requirements for Agricultural Education endorsement in Georgia. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission will attempt to issue an endorsement based upon equivalency; however, it cannot guarantee that an equivalent endorsement can be found. Additional testing, background clearance, and other requirements may also need to be met prior to applying for admission through the board.

In addition to meeting educational requirements, applicants must show proof of two years of verified occupational experience in the licensure specialization area to obtain certification.
