Steps
- Senior vice provost (SVP) provides VP/dean with an overview of the reappointment review process. SVP also shares a copy of the administrator and direct reports surveys that will be conducted.
- AVP requests VP/dean’s unit’s financial scorecard from the Office of Business and Finance. SVP compiles VP/dean’s five-year profile.
- The scorecard and profile are shared with the VP/dean. SVP asks VP/ dean to use this information to help develop a summary of their current term. The summary will be due 6 weeks hence.
- AVP works with IRP to have the administrator and direct reports surveys prepared for distribution..
Weeks of [4 weeks later]
- SVP sends VP/dean a heads-up about the launch of the surveys.
- IRP conducts a survey of university administrators and a separate survey of the VP/dean’s direct reports; results are due to SVP no later than [10 days after survey closes].
Week of [about 2 weeks later]
- VP/dean’s prior term summary due.
- AVP begins to develop a report for the provost based on the prior term summary, financial scorecard, and survey results.
Week of [1 week later]
- SVP/AVP finalize the report; SVP submits it to the provost.
- The provost and SVP meet to discuss reappointment.
- SVP shares the report and the survey results with the VP/dean.
Week of [1 to 2 weeks later]
- The provost and VP/dean meet to discuss possible reappointment.
