Who: Richard Zane Smith, OAA Visiting Artist for 2026-2027, is an IACB Certified Indian Artist whose work appears in the Smithsonian, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the American Craft Museum in New York City. A citizen of the Wyandot Nation of Kansas and recognized by the Wyandot Nation of Oklahoma and the Wendat of Quebec, his new work adapts archaeological elements from Ohio Fort Ancient. He is active in language preservation and trains many ceramic apprentices. Carrie G. Lind (Cherokee Nation/Shawnee) coils clay from her allotment on the White Oak Oklahoma Cherokee reserve. She and is interested in preserving southeastern and Shawnee women’s pottery-making. Her work received support from the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation. Alicia Rezendes, a citizen of the Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma, is working to revive Delaware/Lenape ceramic traditions.
