Sustainability in the Age of AI is a new, university‑wide interdisciplinary initiative co‑led by the AI(X) Hub, Sustainability Institute (SI), and Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI). The initiative brings together faculty across disciplines to examine the environmental, social, health, and governance implications of rapidly expanding AI systems, while also advancing more sustainable approaches to AI development and deployment.
As AI technologies scale quickly across research, industry, and society, this initiative seeks to build a collaborative research and education community focused on understanding AI’s impacts and identifying actionable, interdisciplinary solutions positioned for large‑scale funding opportunities.
