I am pleased to share that we have launched a national search for the next vice provost for strategic enrollment management, following the recent departure of James Orr.
A search advisory committee is being co-chaired by Trevor Brown, senior vice provost for academic affairs and dean of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, and Melissa Shivers, senior vice president for student life.
The committee also includes:
- Zia Ahmed, associate vice president for the residential experience, Office of Student Life
- Kris Devine, vice president of operations and deputy chief financial officer, Office of Business and Finance
- Norman Jones, vice provost and dean for undergraduate education, Office of Undergraduate Education
- Kacy King, senior associate athletics director and executive director, Student Athlete Support Services Office
- Ann Talbot, associate vice president for strategic initiatives, Office of Academic Affairs
- Amy Wheeler, assistant vice provost for student financial success, Strategic Enrollment Management
The advisory committee will be assisted by Allison Thomas and Adam Thomas of the university’s Executive Search team within Human Resources. Strategic Enrollment Management staff and university partners, including those in our colleges and on regional campuses, will also have the opportunity to give important feedback as the process moves forward.
I am grateful to Damon Jaggars, vice provost and dean for University Libraries, for providing interim leadership to Strategic Enrollment Management while we conduct this search.
This is a critical role for Ohio State and for our colleagues in Strategic Enrollment Management, who are charged with the important work of supporting future and current Buckeyes at every stage of the student lifecycle. I am confident that we will find an exceptional candidate to lead this area, and I will share updates as the process moves forward.
