Ohio State is growing the AI toolkit across our campuses. Through new and expanded resources, faculty, staff and students will gain access to innovative tools and curated learning paths designed to build practical AI skills.
Build AI skills with Google and Coursera
Through a new partnership with Google and Coursera, faculty, staff and students will have access to tools and learning opportunities to support real-world AI use. Users should sign in with their Ohio State Google account to access these resources.
- Google AI Pro for Education: Unlock advanced features like Gemini and NotebookLM to enhance productivity and innovation. Available soon. Please review the software request procedure and refer to all available offerings on OTDI’s site-licensed software webpage.
- Coursera Google AI Learning Paths: Explore structured courses that guide learners from foundational concepts to advanced applications in AI. Access Google AI courses by visiting the program portal, clicking the login button and signing in through the Google popup. Seats are limited.
Faculty: Explore how AI Assistants can support teaching and learning
Faculty can also explore Canvas AI Assistants, custom, course-specific tools designed to support defined instructional tasks such as answering common course questions, guiding students through problem-solving steps, providing explanations at various levels, and supporting practice and review.
Canvas AI Assistants are designed and controlled by the instructor and operate within instructor-defined boundaries. Faculty are invited to explore AI Assistants in a sandbox environment, view examples and begin building their own. For help building an AI Assistant and navigating the sandbox, faculty can sign up for OTDI office hours at the OTDI GenAI services booking site.
To deploy an AI Assistant within a live course, faculty will be required to submit an intake form describing how the assistant will be used.
