Vince Castillo, assistant professor of marketing and logistics at the Fisher College of Business, created a game using AI to teach his students the real world of supply chain management.

Inaugural Ohio State AI Research Summit highlights the breadth of AI research and collaboration at the university
The Translational Data Analytics Institute and AI(x) Hub welcomed researchers, students and partners from across Ohio State and beyond for the inaugural OSU AI Research Summit last month. Designed to showcase the wide range of artificial intelligence research taking place across the university, the two-day event created space for interdisciplinary learning, conversation and new connections around one of today’s most fast-moving areas of research.
AI in the Classroom: Beau Meyer
Beau Meyer, an associate professor in the College of Dentistry and current chair of the Dentistry Faculty Council, helped lead an AI-focused discussion during a general faculty meeting, creating a productive, candid space to move the college’s thinking on AI forward.

Dive into course design and AI at May's Course Design Institute
Are you designing or redesigning a course for autumn semester? Join colleagues for the May Course Design Institute. In this multi-day experience, Drake Institute staff guide participants through a backward design process that integrates evidence-based strategies and purposeful use of GenAI to design impactful courses. Sessions meet virtually via CarmenZoom on May 19, 22, 26 and 29 from 1-4:30 p.m.
Build AI fluency with new BuckeyeLearn courses for staff
Ohio State continues to advance AI fluency across the university, and new BuckeyeLearn courses make it easier for staff to get started. Developed by the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation, these short, self-paced courses introduce generative AI concepts and effective prompting techniques to support everyday work. Instructors and students may also find the courses helpful.
Professional development incentive for the AI Fluency Teaching Endorsement
Don't miss out on the professional development incentive for earning the Teaching and Learning to Build AI Fluency teaching endorsement. This endorsement, which is open to all who teach and support instruction at Ohio State, helps educators understand AI and support students’ AI fluency through teaching.
Faculty and staff who earn the endorsement between December 2025 and August 2027 will be eligible to receive a $300 professional development incentive. Graduate students who earn the endorsement may be eligible for a transcript milestone recognizing their achievement.
Teaching support for AI Fluency
The Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning provides a range of resources and learning opportunities to build your knowledge and skills around AI Fluency. Available to all who teach at Ohio State, the offerings will guide you to make informed decisions about designing learning activities that incorporate AI, communicating transparent expectations for AI use and employing teaching strategies that promote students’ acquisition of AI knowledge and skills.
Call for Proposals: Center for Responsible AI and Governance
The Center for Responsible AI and Governance (CRAIG), an NSF-funded partnership led by Ohio State with Baylor, Northeastern and Rutgers Universities, has released its first RFP supporting interdisciplinary research on safe, accurate and accountable AI, along with workforce development initiatives in responsible AI. The submission deadline is April 27.
