Students share their AI stories
One of the most eye-opening experiences at Ohio State for Reed Kroeger was Vince Castillo’s supply chain course that features AI fully integrated into the curriculum.
“It was definitely intimidating at first, it’s a totally different way of learning using this AI tool alongside you,” Reed said. “But it keeps you on track to what’s relevant to class. It’s a good tool, it’s an assistant helping you develop your education.”
AI in the Classroom: Nicholas Denton
"I’ve learned how important iteration and fact checking are when engaging with AI-generated outputs," said Nicholas Denton, senior lecturer in the College of Pharmacy. "Some outputs can even be factually correct, but incomplete. For example, when students generated learning mnemonics, the outputs often included the most commonly used application for a drug, but neglected other targets that could result in side effects that weren’t clear in the output."
AI on the front lines of public service
Artificial intelligence is one of the most transformative forces shaping government and public service today. To explore the mission-critical work of implementing AI, the John Glenn College of Public Affairs hosted the AI Salon, a conversation with AI industry leaders in Washington, D.C.
