Seeking proposals for the Student Academic Success Research (SASR) Grants Program
The Office of Student Academic Success is seeking proposals for the Student Academic Success Research (SASR) Grants Program. Successful proposals will focus their research on improving the academic success of Ohio State students, including students’ initial enrollment in college, academic performance, or retention and graduation. Themes may include Digital Flagship, underrepresented minority student success, open-access campus students (including regional campus and community college transfer students), multi-university or collaboration with an Ohio State practitioner. I-Corps@Ohio RFPs being accepted
The deadline to apply for the I-Corps@Ohio 2020 cohort is January 21, 2020. It's a statewide program developed to assist faculty, staff and students at Ohio colleges in validating the market potential of technologies and launching startup companies. Teams that receive funding will complete an intensive eight-week, training program designed to help understand the market, develop a commercialization strategy and attain research skills for their technology.Learn More and Apply
UITL Teaching Support Program
Compensation-eligible instructors should complete the first two components of the Teaching Support Program (TSP) by Jan. 31 in order to receive compensation at the end of March. The first component, the Teaching Practices Inventory, takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The final deadline to complete the TSP for compensation is March 31.Learn More
Vice Provost Wayne Carlson announces retirement
Wayne E. Carlson, PhD, vice provost for undergraduate studies and dean of undergraduate education, has announced his decision to retire from the university. Vice Provost Carlson's tenure at Ohio State has resulted in significant improvements for students, faculty, staff, administrators and support units in the colleges and on each of our campuses.
Kirwan Institute Leadership Announcement
We are pleased to advise you that Arthur R. James, MD, associate professor-clinical, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, has accepted our offer to serve as the interim executive director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity. Subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, his appointment is effective May 1, 2017, through April 30, 2018.
