Gregoire extended as dean of College of Social Work through June 2022
Dean Tom Gregoire will extend his leadership of the College of Social Work for another two years. Subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, his term as dean will be extended through June 30, 2022, at which time Tom anticipates returning to the faculty.Learn More

Partnership will recruit and retain individuals with disabilities for Ohio State University careers
The Ohio State University and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) have partnered to place an OOD career specialist exclusively at Ohio State. This will be the first time OOD has embedded an employee within a single organization to focus on enhancing the recruitment and retention of individuals with disabilities and best practices for creating an inclusive workplace environment.
I am pleased to share the news that Ryan J. Schmiesing, PhD, associate professor in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and associate provost in the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) has accepted our offer to serve as the Vice Provost for Strategic Planning and Implementation. Subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, his appointment is effective on May 1, 2017.
Faculty, Alumnus Elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences
This year, three Ohio State faculty and one alumnus were elected to the 237th class of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Those elected include Janet Box-Steffensmeier, political science; Russell Fazio, psychology; Geoffrey Parker, history; and Carter Phillips, law.
