Student deadline to complete Spring 2020 incomplete courses
Under revised policies due to the coronavirus pandemic in Spring 2020, students who took an Incomplete in a Spring 2020 course have 10 weeks to complete their course work. This 10-week period concludes on July 22, 2020.Grading policy changes for Spring 2020
Office of Diversity and Inclusion Hall of Fame Award
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Ohio State University Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), ODI will honor members of the Ohio State community who have contributed through exemplary and sustained leadership the ideals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement. Nominees for the Award should demonstrate outstanding achievements and contributions in the community and/or the private, non-profit, and public sector. Kristina M. Johnson appointed 16th president of The Ohio State University
The Ohio State University Board of Trustees today appointed Kristina M. Johnson, PhD, as the 16th president in university history. Johnson, who has served as chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY) since 2017, brings more than 30 years of experience as an academic, business and policy leader.
Ohio State announces plans for an autumn semester return to campuses
The Ohio State University today announced that it plans to resume in-person classes for the autumn semester. Specific guidelines will be announced in the coming weeks based on guidance from state and local health authorities and recommendations of the Safe Campus and Scientific Advisory Subgroup of the university’s COVID-19 Transition Task Force.
Teaching Support Program exceeds goals
Congratulations to the 3,500+ faculty members who have participated in the Teaching Support Program (TSP) in the past two years. Through their work and the leadership of the University Institute for Teaching and Learning (UITL), Ohio State has created one of the most comprehensive teaching excellence programs in higher education. The participation rate also shattered TSP goals. For example, 69% of full-time faculty in undergraduate-serving colleges have completed the first two components of the program, far exceeding the 50% goal. UITL remains ready to support faculty through the instructional redesign process and with other topics related to teaching and learning.
Staged Approach to Returning to On-Campus Research
Beginning in June, The Ohio State University will move to a new stage of restarting on-campus research labs, studio and field activities. While we recognize that many are eager to return, ensuring the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students remains our top priority and responsibility.
Teaching Support Program exceeds goals in first two years
The University Institute for Teaching and Learning (UITL) implemented the Teaching Support Program in autumn of 2018 as a signature professional development opportunity. The program was built with strategic partners across Ohio State and designed to use evidence-based approaches and strategies in all classrooms and educational contexts.
