Ohio State's UN Millennium Fellows
Selected as 2023 Millennium Fellows, 11 undergraduates joined a prestigious international leadership development initiative offered by the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network. Millennium Fellows participate in a semester-long program to improve organizational abilities, partnership building and community impact skills while working on a sustainable development-related project.
Empowering future biomedical researchers
A new program at The Ohio State University seeks to grow the ranks of the next generation of biomedical scholars doing impactful research. The Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program provides undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups with a research-focused training program that includes courses, experiential learning, faculty and graduate student mentoring, and peer support. The program is a collaboration between the colleges of Public Health, Engineering and Arts and Sciences and is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
Verna finds meaning, opportunities at Ohio State and the Wex
November will mark one year since Gaëtane Verna became executive director of the Wexner Center for the Arts. In a recent interview with the Ohio State Alumni Magazine, Verna reflected on what she’s learned in her time at the Wex and at Ohio State, what she likes about Columbus, and what she hopes to accomplish in the future.
