Ohio State reports record-high enrollment for first-year and minority students
Even in the midst of a global pandemic, The Ohio State University recruited a record-high number of new first-year students this academic year. The university set enrollment records for undergraduate students on the Columbus campus, as well as female and minority enrollment across all campuses. “We are encouraged to see that this class is among the most diverse and talented in university history,” said President Kristina M. Johnson. “Ohio State remains committed to a diverse, inclusive and vibrant environment for all our members of our university community. We know we have more work to do, and we are ready to roll up our sleeves and continue the hard work together.”
TDAI teams with OSU partners to advance five interdisciplinary research projects
The Ohio State University’s Translational Data Analytics Institute has partnered with the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, Department of Biomedical Informatics in the College of Medicine, and Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity to support five interdisciplinary pilot research teams that are creating artificial intelligence technology for biomedical use and incorporating social impact concerns into data science curriculum. The partners’ unique combination of funding and in-kind resources is enabling faculty teams that together represent seven colleges and 11 different disciplines.
