Writing Effective Assessment Questions: Multiple Choice Mayhem
This session on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will help educators recognize high-quality, content-driven assessments and provide an opportunity to experience poorly written test items from the point of view of the test-taker. Learn multiple-choice question-writing "rules," such as including plausible distractors; recognize common test-item pitfalls, like convergence; and understand how smart test-takers use grammatical cues and distractor length to make educated guesses.Learn More and Register

Ohio State-led consortium aims to reduce opioid deaths by 40 percent
Through a newly awarded $65.9 million federal research grant to address the opioid epidemic, The Ohio State University will lead a consortium of academic, state and community partners that aims to reduce overdose deaths by 40% over three years.

The Academy of Teaching's Conference on Excellence in Teaching and Learning will be held Thursday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the 4-H Center. This free event is for members of the Ohio State community to engage with innovative, interesting, and evidence-based ideas related to effective teaching and improving student learning.
